Remember what sparks joy and warmth in your heart, remember what calm ease feels like in your body and soul. Remember, remember...
There are times in life when an awareness of our present moment can allow us to fully embody the childhood memory of comfortable stillness. Sitting alone in the early-morning hush of the library, sleeping dogs lay quietly, the perfect cup of coffee sits proudly on a marble-topped side table that is overflowing with myriad books. Softly gazing out the window into the foggy morning air, admiring the busy cardinals and chickadees as they diligently do their work, I feel grateful for my breath, for silence, for these words, for a moment of peace. Yes, this is my innermost dream, come to fruition. Here, in this meditative moment, everything is exactly as it needs to be. My heart feels content and full, my mind is at ease, my face is soft. These are the moments that ignite warmth in the chest and remind me to be present and open, to soak up this goodness, to pack this sliver of joy into my heart, filling my spiritual reserves to allow me ample sustenance in those times when I'm not feeling content and full, when I'm not feeling bliss or Zen, and when I don't have the quiet luxury of drinking coffee on the couch with the dogs and the birds. The heart encourages me to remember, remember the divine essence, so I can revisit this grounding sensation, this memory of comfortable stillness, over and over and over again.
Remember what sparks joy and warmth in your heart, remember what calm ease feels like in your body and soul. Remember, remember...
