We all find ourselves in situations right now that are beyond our control. Being quarantined to our homes, isolated from friends and family. But, what we are being given can be a beautiful opportunity. A chance to slow down, to Be. Suddenly we are without our normal daily routines, our normal busyness, and all of the errands, chores, and obligations that fill our days and distract us from WHAT IS. The commute, the classroom or office, the travel, the shopping. Even the “fun” stuff like hair appointments, meals out, and pedicures. Gone. And what we’re left with is time, time to scrub the extraneous layers that surround us, time to slowly unfurl into this experience of Being with ourselves. For some of us, this prospect can be overwhelming and scary. Especially if we’ve been hiding behind all of the outside “stuff” that keeps us so busy. Many of us now find ourselves working from home, maybe caring for little ones or caring for ourselves, all of us learning a brand new routine. In this space, this time of slowing the influence of the outside world, we have the chance to be One with our reality, to reconnect with our Source. We may find time to work in our garden. Or cook nourishing meals. We may take a walk and hear the birds, or watch the sunrise. We might take our makeup and nail polish off, indefinitely. We may find time to read that book on our nightstand, or listen to new music, or meditate. We may relearn the shape of our child’s face, feel the unconditional love of a pet, or have a dance party of one. Time. Space.
